Electrical supply
The big one. A 6 kW-plus stone heater is precisely where plenty of Lombok villa connections hit their ceiling, and upgrading PLN capacity or moving to three-phase carries a genuine cost and a genuine wait. We check your electrical board at survey and price it as its own line, never folded into the sauna cost, so the room and the power stay visible as two separate numbers. Base, deck and drainage work
Nothing we install sits directly on bare ground. There is always a level base built to carry real weight — a filled 1,000-litre plunge tips the scale at a tonne before anyone steps in — plus somewhere for water to drain to. A flat, accessible, well-drained plot keeps this modest; a sloped one does not.
Upgrading beyond standard glass
A full wall of toughened glass costs real money, and it also adds roughly 1.5 kW to the heater load for every extra square metre of glass, which can tip you straight into the electrical line above. Usually worth it. Never free. See glass and orientation.
Getting materials to your plot
Every panel comes in through Lembar port or on the Padangbai ferry before it ever reaches your access road. A narrow one-metre track, or a further boat transfer out to Gili, limits how large a panel can travel and adds handling along the way. None of it is a dealbreaker, and all of it is cheaper to plan for at survey stage than to discover on delivery day.
How a quote comes together
A survey comes first, then a layout drawing, a heat-load calculation, a full specification, and one fixed number — typically inside two working days, with nothing owed until you have seen the whole package. Payment then runs in stages: a deposit once the drawing is signed, a further stage at workshop completion, and the balance on commissioning, once the room is genuinely holding temperature.

Straight Answers
We run a surf camp in Kuta — can guests use the sauna the same day it's finished?
Not quite same-day, but close: once commissioning is done and the room has run its full test heat-up, it is ready for guests straight away. What takes the real time is everything before that — freight through Lembar or Padangbai, then final assembly on site — so we build the guest-readiness date into the schedule from day one rather than promising it at the end.
Does salt air off the coast actually shorten how long a sauna lasts?
It comes down to which fittings get specified, not whether the sauna itself holds up. Timber and glass are unaffected by salt air once properly sealed; the real risk sits with untreated metal fixings and hinges close to the coast, which is exactly what our survey checks for on a build near Senggigi or the Gili coastline.
I'm not on Lombok year-round — can this be handled remotely until I arrive?
Yes, and it usually is. Most of our villa clients are overseas for the bulk of the project: the survey can run from photos and a video call if you cannot be on-site, the drawing and specification go back and forth by WhatsApp or email, and we only need you physically present, or a trusted manager standing in, at handover.
Getting equipment to Gili or a cliff-top plot near Kuta looks complicated — does that blow up the budget?
It adds a line, not a blowout. Panels travel via Lembar port or the Padangbai ferry, and a further boat transfer to Gili or a narrow cliff-top access road simply caps how large a single panel can be and adds handling time. We price that access cost separately once we have seen the route, so it never arrives as a surprise on delivery day.
Which costs usually catch people out when they budget off the starting price?
Foundations and decking, drainage, electrical upgrades, any glass beyond the standard spec, freight to island or hard-access sites, and structural work all sit outside the unit price. Every one of those is itemised on your quote, so you can see exactly what each line costs and where you could trim.
